I have something to confess: I’m now a morning smoothie addict. I’ve started with a greens-infused smoothie every day for the past month and I can’t say how amazing I feel and how delicious they are. I discovered this winning combination several weeks ago and it’s been my go-to ever since! If you’re looking for something sweet but nourishing to give you a burst of energy and cold-busting vitamins at the beginning of each day, then this is for you. It’s so quick to make, too! Just pop your ingredients in, blend, then rinse before you head out the door - 5 minutes! I travel across the country for work almost every week and this smoothie keeps me energized, happy, and glowing. Drink this if you’re every feeling sluggish or stuffed-up and your body will sing your praises. Just one glass has so many vitamins and antioxidants it’s amazing! The natural sugars in the fruit will also give you a huge boost of energy that might make that large cup of coffee no longer necessary.

This sounds a bit stuffy, but I really do believe this – making a conscious, healthy choice first thing in the morning sets you up for success for the rest of the day. Think about it! If you start your day with a healthy smoothie you know you’ve already made one awesome choice, so making more healthy choices is suddenly more doable. Hemp, chia, berries, and acai are more than just popular Instagram hashtags – they’re powerful foods that are there to help you feel your best! The berries add a wonderful color and richness to the smoothie and are loaded with fiber and antioxidants to keep you in fighting form. Blended with the banana and dates, they’re absolutely heavenly. I added chia seeds for their high fiber and omega-3 counts as well as their ability to regulate blood sugar after a meal. That means that you’re less likely to have post-meal cravings and will feel more satiated. Hemp adds a boost of protein, omega-3s, and a wonderful nutty flavor. Acai berries too are unbelievably high in antioxidants and omega-3s and give a wonderful wild berry flavor to the smoothie. Drink this to start your day off right! Add some hemp protein powder if you’re looking for an extra protein boost.


Serves 1


1 heaping tablespoon acai powder
½ cup frozen blackberries
½ cup frozen raspberries
½ banana
4 dates
½ cup kale leaves
½ cup almond milk
1 tablespoon hemp seeds
1 tablespoon chia seeds


So simple- just put all your ingredients in the blender, blend until smooth, then enjoy! I used a nutribullet blender.
